The moment has finally arrived for boys’ basketball, district play. The guys will take on Emerson, kicking off the district 10-5A season.

The boys’ basketball team heads to Emerson High School on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. for their first District 10-5A game.

“We’ve been preparing for district by focusing on things we’ve done well to this point and trying to negate the things we haven’t done well,” head coach Bruce Wright said.

Using what they learned from their prior losses, the 3-11 Redhawks hope to take down the 8-6 Emerson Mavericks, and have a successful district run.

Freshman Ian Williams is excited for the closer competition and high stake games of district play.

“I’m really excited about district starting,” Williams said. “We finally get to play against teams that are close to us and we get to play for a playoff spot.”
