With the District 11-5A meet less than two weeks away on Oct. 10, the Redhawks cross country team competed at the Ken Gaston Invitational in Grand Prairie on Friday.
The girls’ team led the way taking first place with its top five runners all finishing in the top 30 led by Sofdia Golladay (8th), Sophie Lopez (14th), and Srishti Shetty (15th).
On the boys’ side, Dominic Ward led the Redhawks with a 17:52 run over the 5k.
The nature of the course led to fast times according to girls’ head coach Khera Vay.
“It was one of the flattest courses we’ve had this season as many of the others have been hilly,” Vay said. “A lot of kids got their PR at this race and performed really well.”
