In their final meet before districts, the Redhawk cross country team will hope to finalize their times at the Ken Gaston Invitational. “I need to work on my consistency,” senior Vedant Shah said.

Making one last stop before the District 10-5A meet on Oct. 12, the cross country team is headed to Lynn Creek Park on Friday at 8:00 a.m. to compete in the Ken Gaston Invitational.

“The athletes are focusing on sleep, nutrition and hydration as this is the time of the season in which bodies start to break down,” coach Khera Vay said. “Workouts will remain focused on maintaining mileage, increasing pace on repeats to work towards district/regional goal times, as well as additional speed work.”

At this point in the season, senior Vedant Shah is focused on running a more consistent race.

“I need to work on my consistency,” Shah said. “I think I can run a very good time this meet if I go a little slower on my first mile and save some energy for the latter 2 miles.”
