Cheer is getting ready for the UIL cheer season, starting with Frisco showoffs Thursday here at The Nest.
To prep for UIL, all Frisco ISD cheer teams come together here on campus from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening where they will perform for one another to see how they might place before the state competition in January.
“Cheer showoffs is a fun thing we do before UIL where we have everyone from Frisco ISD come together and perform their UIL routine to see how we do kinda as a test run before UIL,” cheer coach Katherine Rainwater said. “It’s going to be super fun.”
With a dedicated class period, the team has been busy practicing their routines.
“We’ve worked really really hard for this time and we’ve had out of school practices, in school practices,” cheer captain, senior Katelyn Bott said. “It’s a three minute routine that showcases what we’ve been working on all year and there’s a lot of hard work and we’re really excited to perform on Thursday.”
