The Redhawks wrestling team competed at the Coyote Classic at Heritage High School on Saturday.
“Our final matches during the regular season were at the Coyote Classic over the weekend,” head coach Justin Koons said. “The competition wasn’t too tough since we have districts coming up as our next match.”
The road to the state tournament begins with Jan. 29 with the District 8-5A tournament.
“With districts being our next match we are taking everything more seriously and making sure the kids are in that competitive mindset,” Koons said “We are practicing harder and making sure nutrition is right.”
The wrestlers have been practicing harder and paying extra attention as the goal of making state is on the horizon.
“Since districts is next we have been preparing and taking things more seriously to make sure everyone does well,” senior William Randolph said.
