Wingspan’s featured athlete for 12/21 is varsity soccer player, senior Ryan Lee.

Wingspan: When and why did you start playing soccer?

Lee: “I started playing around kindergarten. I just played because all my friends were going to play too.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about soccer?

Lee: “My favorite part about soccer is competing with my friends.”

Wingspan: What has soccer taught you?

Lee: “Soccer has taught me leadership and discipline. I wouldn’t have learned as much otherwise.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?

Lee: “My biggest inspiration is my parents who have been with me through everything.”

Wingspan: Do you play soccer outside of school?

Lee: “I play club outside of school for FC Dallas. I enjoy playing for club because it’s more competitive and it allows me to meet new people.”

Wingspan: What are your goals for this season?

Lee: “My goal this season is definitely to make the playoffs and have fun.”

Wingspan: How has the team been preparing for this season?

Lee: “We have been preparing by practicing outside of school hours and on our own time.”

Wingspan: What does your future with soccer look like?

Lee: “I will probably just play pickup soccer in the future.”
