Dea is a senior who has been doing journalism since her freshman year. She loves movies, reading and listening to music. Her favorite book series is Harry Potter (Potterheads are the best kind of people). She is an officer in UNICEF and a member of the Dallas UNICEF UNITE Council as a Co-Youth Representative. She is also a member of DECA. She hopes to someday work at UNICEF   or at the Department of Political Affairs in the United Nations. She is so hyped to be a part of Wingspan for another year and is hoping that she gets through senior year with even a little bit of her sanity left.

The final advisory period of the year was Friday. The 25 minute period took place between 2nd and 3rd period, but with the school year nearly over, the need for the period isn't what it was according to administrators. For the remainder of the year, 2nd period will be 25 minutes longer with the extra time on May 23 being used for the final Redhawk Rant.

The process for selecting classes for 2021-2022 is underway, but while certain courses are mandatory, librarian Chelsea Hamilton is trying to find a few students to take a class period as a library aide. “Library aide is an opportunity for students who love to read or enjoy the library to be able to spend more time with what they enjoy,” Hamilton said via email. “Library aides get hands-on experience organizing and shelving books, chances to express their creativity in decorating the space, and have a place to call their own.”

Mu Alpha Theta and NHS students will be hosting Peer Point tutorial sessions every Wednesday before school, during advisory, and after school in the library in a program that began March 20. "The main goal of this session is to help students who need that individualized attention, but who can’t get it due to the large volume of students coming in to get help,” senior NHS officer Shruti Bindingnavile said. “However, these sessions can really help anybody who has questions or is unsure about the topic they are learning. I think the beauty of this program is that it is universally beneficial with no significant drawbacks.”
